CREATION AND THE 30 DAY CHALLENGE

Recently, I took a trip down memory lane – the last 6 months — and found I was disappointed in myself. I realized that my level of creation and contribution was lacking. There was so much more I could be doing and I wasn’t.

This uncomfortable dissatisfaction came from simply looking at my calendar for the last six months and adding up the amount of time I spent consuming entertainment and weighing it against the amount of time I spent creating something that makes the world a better place.

When I looked at the numbers, I didn’t like what I saw, and when I continued to  spend hours binge watching my favorite show, Homeland, I felt the sting of self judgment! I knew I wasn’t living up to my potential or what I believed to be my purpose in this life.

Does that ever happen to you? Awareness just hits you upside the head and you go, “Oh no!”

So to remedy this imbalance, I set up a challenge for myself. In addition to my normal outreach (blog posts, social media inspirational and motivational posts, answering questions, coaching clients) and taking care of my family, I am going to produce a product each month that adds beauty and goodness to the world. I can do this. I’ve got the time.

Last month, I created a “Clarity Bracelet” to help remind you and me to live from our best selves each and every day. What I loved about creating it was spending the time to construct a beautiful reminder that I knew would work for me and for others.

Who doesn’t love a beautiful bracelet that has words on the back of a beautiful charm that inspire you to be your best and goes with everything?!

This month, I am working on several ideas:

Maybe it will be stickers for your planner, maybe it will be some fun earrings, or maybe it will be an inspirational manuscript based on our trip to Giverny.

I don’t know what it will be, but what will happen is that it will be finished and up for sale by 7/31/2018.

I am thinking about you and want to explain something. I tend to write from the perspective of “If I can do it, you can too!” The reason I do this, my faithful readers, is that there is nothing special about me. I am a normal kind of girl from a suburb of San Francisco that got lucky. I found the secret sauce to my happiness by looking in the mirror and trusting that inner voice that we all have.

But you don’t need luck to find your secret sauce. You just need to start listening to and acting on that inner voice.

I’m telling you the truth. There is so much more to you than your experiences, your thoughts or your circumstances. You have so much more power than you know.

So….

What can you create? Is there something that you’ve been wanting to create and have been putting it off because you don’t seem to have the time? What would be a first step for you?

Join me! I would love for you to share what you create with me and others. Try it and see for yourself if you don’t experience excitement and pride, not only about the thing you created, but about the person who made it happen!!

Remember, 7/31/2018 is the deadline. I’ll put up a blog post where we all can share and celebrate!
